Vastu

Vastu is an ancient Indian shaastra of architecture and buildings which helps in making a congenial setting or a place to live and work in a most scientific way taking advantage of the benefits bestowed by nature, its elements and energy fields for enhanced wealth, health, prosperity and happiness.

Vastu Shastra unifies the science, art, astronomy and astrology; it can also be said as an ancient mystic science for designing and building. Vastu Shastra helps us to make our lives better and will secure from things going wrong.

Vastu is the shaastra of direction that combines all the five elements of nature and balance them with the man and Vastu Shastra is creating a congenial settings or a place to live or work, in most scientific way taking advantages of the benefits bestowed by the five elements called “Paanchbhootas” of the nature thereby paving the way for enhanced health, wealth, prosperity and happiness in an enlightened environment. Vastu art is also an important part of our life since ancient times, depends upon five elements i.e. Water, Air, Fire, Earth & Space.

वास्तु शब्द का अर्थ है, निवास करना। जिस भूमि पर मनुष्य निवास करते हैं उसे वास्तु कहा जाता है। पुराणिक कथा के अनुसार  भगवान शंकर ने जिस समय अंधकासुर का वध किया उस समय उनके ललाट से पसीने की बूंदें गिरीं। उनसे एक विशाल मुख वाला प्राणी उत्पन्न हुआ। उस प्राणी ने गिरे हुए अंधकों का पान किया। फिर भी जब वह तृप्त नहीं हुआ तब वह भगवान शंकर के सम्मुख घोर तपस्या करने लगा उसके तपस्या से प्रसन्न होकर भगवान शंकर ने उससे कहा, “जो तुम्हारी कामना हो वो वर मांग लो।“ उसने वर मांगा कि, मैं तीनों लोकों को ग्रसने में समर्थ हो जाऊँ। वर प्राप्ति के बाद वो अपने विशाल शरीर से तीनों लोकों को अवरुद्ध करता हुआ पृथ्वी पर आ गिरा। तब भयभीत देवताओं ने उसको अधो मुख करके वही समाप्त कर दिया। जिस देवता ने उसे दबा रखा था वह देवता उसके उसी अंग पर निवास करने लगा। सभी देवताओं के निवास करने के कारण वास्तु नाम प्रसिद्ध हुआ।
